It is your life, and nobody cares about it more than you. Do not allow the opinion of others to determine what you do, or don’t do, with your life. No matter what your teacher does, you should focus on why you are taking the course in the first place; let your “why” be your guide.
This underscores the importance of having a well-formulated reason for being in school and taking online courses. Without proper motivation, you will not have the right attitude.
You accept responsibility when you decide that it all depends on you. No matter what happens, you do not transfer blame to other people. Even when the teacher is genuinely at fault or the course is not what you expected, you take responsibility for not doing your part.
Why do you want to relinquish control into the hands of other people and your circumstances? That is not the way champions and winners think. Those who win and are successful do so because they take 100% responsibility for the outcome of their lives. It is only by taking 100%responsibility that they can influence the result that they get.
