In addition to being created in the image and likeness of God, you become a child of God when you recognize that the fellowship between you and God needs to be reestablished. You become born of God when you believe in the name of Jesus Christ. For it is written:
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13 (NKJV)
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer from Him, that we may also be glorified together.” Romans 8: 14-17 (NKJV)
When you become a child of God, you receive the Spirit of God and become a joint heir with Jesus Christ. There is nothing more powerful than understanding this new reality that you are a child of God.
Do not let anybody tell you otherwise. With God on your side, you are the majority and you are unstoppable.
