When Nothing Makes Sense

In 2002 I was sitting in a conference room listening to a speaker from the United States of America delivering a speech. When I heard the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit in my heart, "Eric you are going to America for graduate school." Lord, how is this going to happen? America is too far and expensive.

How on earth am I going to raise the 12 million francs that is needed to pay my tuition per year, when I was not even having one hundred thousand in my account? The air ticket to America was about 1.2 million francs. How was I going to come up with such an amount of money? My family was not rich and it was impossible for us to raise the money that I needed to embark on this journey.

When I went home I told my wife who was three months pregnant that were we going to pray our way to the United States of America.

The only thing could do was pray because we could not pull this thing by our own strength.

This idea that was dropped in my spirit was about to change our lives forever and the lives of millions of other people including you who is reading this right now. Are you worried, sick, and depressed? Do you hate your job and dread waking up each day and going to work? The following advice will help you;

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 Every situation means the good the bad and the ugly. It also includes successes, failures, and defeats. It does not exclude acceptance, rejection, and love. Everything means when you are happy, sad, and not so sure.

Many people who do not pray dismiss prayer. How do you know prayer does not work when you do not pray?

When things do not make sense to you, it is a smart idea to prayer, because prayer works all the time.
