Why you must be courageous

Do you want to reach your full potential and become all you were created to be? Then you must be courageous. No matter who gifted you are, it is going to require more than confidence for you to become successful. It is imperative for you to become courageous. Without courage, you will be stopped in your tracks and will not become all you were created to be. You may be wondering why your giftedness is not enough. I may not have all the answers to this question and many others, but what I know is evil is alive and well on earth. This evil manifests itself in many different ways and will do all to mess up your life. You are going to fight to reach your full potential. A grain of corn does not complain when it is placed in the soil and exposed to the elements. Instead, the grain of corn uses adverse conditions to become a maize plant that eventually bears hundreds of grains of corn. Without the soil, heat, and darkness that the grain of corn is subjected to, it will never become the plant that it was created to be. Every seed is a tree, but this tree will never get out if the seed is not subjected to some discomfort and death. The paradox of life is that you gain through loss, and you live through death. Why are you afraid to suffer loss or die? Courage is not the absence of fear, discouragement, distractions you name it. Courage is the ability to keep going amid fear, death, discouragement, hate, and all the like. No wonder when Joshua was about to get into the promised land, the land flowing with milk and honey, he was given the following instructions: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”  Joshua 1:9 (NIV) The land was indeed flowing with milk and honey and abundance, but there was a problem in the land. There were other people already living in this land and were not going to give up the land without a fight. Do you think you will just get more market share without a fight? You are gravely mistaken if you believe that things will only be handed to you because you show up.
