How overcome your circumstances

Do you want to reach your full potential and become all you were created to be? Then you must not allow your circumstances to determine the outcome of your life.

When I was a child, I heard that “a goat eats where it is tired.” This made sense, because each morning, we took the goats out and tired them in a specific location for them to graze all day. The goats were tied because we did not want them roaming around and eating crops.

As I grew older it dawn on me that this metaphor of the "goat eating where it is tied" was being used to justified corruption and many or illicit behaviors. Those justifying receiving bribes and acting in an unethical manner blamed their circumstances. In other words, the assumption is that they cannot help it because they are at the mercy of their circumstances.

This is a flawed way of thinking because no human being is a goat. While you may feel that you are at the mercy of your circumstances, the truth is you are not. Therefore, you must take charge of your circumstances and override them.

Here is a powerful admonition that will help you put things into perspective:

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:21

You are not at the mercy of evil, you don’t need evil to disappear, but you can overcome the evil. Saying, “the devil made me do it" is not good enough and will not cut it. All you need is to ask Eve, and you will know how this type of lame excuse goes.

Champions take responsibility for their actions or inaction and don’t blame the circumstances of other people.

Stop the Balme game and stop making excuses and complaining. The issue is not your circumstances; it is you.

The IEM APPROACH is a holistic way of life; the physical and spiritual must be in synergy for real, lasting, and sustainable success.
