You MUST control your appetites if you want to reach your full potential. You are already endowed with great potential. That said, you have some work to do in deploying and deploying the great potential that is already in you. But you have to watch out for distractions, and obstacles, especially your appetites.
One of your most significant challenges is going to be your appetites, and if you don’t learn how to control them, you will fail. This is such a severe issue that King Solomon had this to say about it:
And put a knife to your throat
If you are a man given to appetite. Proverbs 23:2
He is calling for a drastic measure because he understands what is at stake. Your life is at stake.
Unfortunately, many people are slowly digging their graves with their teeth. In addition to digging your grave with your teeth, you are digging a hole in your pocket, and poverty will rush in sooner than you realize.
It is impossible to build wealth when you are unhealthy because your time and money will be spent treating you. Therefore, guard your health with your life. No wonder King Solomon said this:
Whoever loves pleasure will become poor; whoever loves wine and olive oil will never be rich. Provers 21:7
He is not against having a good time, but that should not become the purpose of your life. In order, words eat to live and not live to eat.
